How do I buy classes and schedule classes?

Our automated online booking system can be found on our homepage at www.coremocean.com.  Click on the tab where it reads "Schedule/Sign Up".  We highly recommend that all of our clients become familiar with our Mindbody online booking system so you can be in complete control of your schedule. You will be asked to create a profile, login, and password. You will also be asked for a credit card to keep on file, which can be used for purchases, as well as any late charges. Once you have created an account, you can view the class schedule and purchase class packs that fit your needs.  This will also be where you cancel your classes if your schedule changes and you can't attend class. If you forget your password or need more info, please call us or send an email to info@coremocean.com. 

I'm ready to start! Do I need to take any kind of private lesson or introductory class?

The best way to learn is to jump right in and take a class. Our classes are small, no more than 10 people, so you will get personalized attention during each and every workout. Our certified Lagree Fitness coaches will give you an overview before class and will give directions on all the exercises, including what the modifications are for each one, if needed. However, if you have had a recent surgery, chronic back pain, painful joints, a severe medical condition or have not been physically active in the past, it is recommended to take a private session first to assess your fitness level.  All new members will fill out a fitness profile.

I haven’t worked out in a long time, will I be able to do the class?

We're excited that you're thinking about getting into shape with us. The classes at Core MOcean are definitely challenging and will push you to (and past) your limits.  If you're mentally ready, we welcome you!  If you haven't worked out in a long time (or ever) you may have to modify some of the moves.  For example, everyone goes within their own range of motion so you may not go as low in a lunge.  Our workout is a very efficient and effective way to build muscle and burn fat.  

If you have chronic back pain, painful joints, a severe medical condition, recent surgery or have not been physically active in the past, it is recommended to take a private session first to assess your fitness level and to make sure group fitness classes at Core MOcean is the right step for you.

I am really active and fit, will this be a workout for me?

Absolutely! Because Core MOcean focuses on effective muscle stimulation, you will feel an intensity like you haven't felt before and those muscles will get longer, leaner and stronger. You're going to love the burn you feel in class and the glow you feel after class.  The Lagree Fitness Method that is taught at Core MOcean attracts athletes from pro-ball players to Ironman competitors, golfers to surfers, and just about everything in between.

When should I arrive for class?

If it is your first class, we ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to class so we can introduce you to the Megaformer and talk to you for a bit (if you don't arrive at least 10 minutes before class, you will be asked to reschedule).  For returning clients, please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.  

What should I wear and what should I bring?

Grip socks are required and available for purchase at the studio if you don't already own a pair.

Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in and your body can breathe in.   Preferably not too loose or baggy so instructors are able to see your alignment and form.  

Bring a bottle of water…it’s always a good idea to keep yourself well hydrated during and after this workout. (No glass containers please)

Be prepared to sweat!  Bringing a towel is always a good idea.

• Jewelry is not recommended...especially large rings since they can get caught on the machine
• No cell phones during classes - give yourself 45 minutes to focus solely on you!
• No strong perfumes, colognes, or lotions (including coconut oil or other oil based products)

Your credit card is on file, so cash/credit is not necessary.

How many days a week should I come to class?

The workout is designed to work your muscles to fatigue at which point you will need to rest. Depending on your own personal fitness level and the intensity of your workout, you may need more or less time to recover. Our recommendation is to come 3x times a week to get the best results. Remember, our muscles and bodies can't change without rest and time to rebuild. We HIGHLY recommend taking every other day off to let those muscles rebuild and you will see amazing changes in your body. Because the Core MOcean workout is so effective and intense we do not recommend coming more than 3x per week.

What is the cancellation policy?

Due to limited number of spaces available in each class, a 12-hour cancellation notice is required to avoid being charged for the class you reserve. If you late cancel after the 12-hour window, you will lose that session. If you late cancel and you're on an unlimted or auto billed package, you will be charged $15.  For all other class packs (i.e...5, 10, 20 packs), if you late cancel within 2 hours of your scheduled class a $15 fee will be charged to the credit card on file.  For ALL packages, If you do not show up for class you will incur a $25 'no show' fee.  Switching classes to a different class time within 12 hours of class is considered a late cancel. If a valid credit card is not on file, the account is subject to immediate termination.

Please note, we cannot give refunds for any classes that you miss – just think of it as extra motivation to show up! No exceptions given so please do not ask.

Is there a waitlist for full classes?

Yes, and we strongly recommend putting your name on the waitlist for a particular class! Not only will you have better luck getting into a class, it also helps us know where we need to add classes. Get on the list by clicking "Sign Up Now!" when a class reads "10 Reserved, 0 Open," choose the waitlist option. If a spot opens up, we will email you to automatically confirm your spot. If you're not signed up for our email notifications or you use an email you don't check frequently, please check your Mindbody schedule to see if you've cleared it.

If you've added yourself to the waitlist, it's your responsibility to cancel your waitlist request if you can no longer attend or plan to attend the class. If you clear the waitlist less than 12 hours prior to the class, you will be responsible for any late cancels or no show fees so make sure to cancel yourself from the waitlist if you can't make it!

Will my spot be given away if I am late for class?

Yes, if you are 5 minutes late to class your spot is open for someone else who may be waiting. It is very important to arrive on time so you get the full workout and don't disrupt class.

Are my purchases refundable or transferable?

Sorry, but all purchases are final, and are not transferable.  Some of our memberships require signing a contract for auto-payments. Please make sure that you look these over carefully and fully understand the rules before signing them.

How old do you have to be to workout at Core MOcean Studio?

Core MOcean is a 16 and up fitness studio.  If you are under the age of 18, your parent or legal guardian must be with you at least for the first class.  

Do you offer childcare? 

Unfortunately since we are a small studio, we don't offer childcare.  Please make childcare arrangements prior to coming into the studio...our classes are only 45 mins so please take this time to focus on YOU!

I am pregnant, can I still do the workout?

If you are pregnant, this is not the time to start this particular workout.  Doctors do not advise to try a new workout while pregnant...especially not something a core intensive as Core MOcean.  It's amazing for getting your pre-pregnancy body back though! We will look forward to training you then.

If you're a client of Core MOcean and have been regularly coming to class before getting pregnant, you can continue to come as long as you (and your trainers) feel comfortable.

Do you have showers? 

Yes, we do have a shower at our Willow Glen location only. Please bring your own towel. We provide soap, shampoo, and conditioner for your convienience.
